Andy Cohen Addresses Why The Real Housewives of Potomac Will Be Returning in Summer 2020
The RHOP executive producer explained why "it's a smart decision."
Following the news that Season 5 of The Real Housewives of Potomac would be shifting back to this summer, Real Housewives executive producer Andy Cohen addressed fans' questions about the move on Twitter on April 23.
When one fan commented about the new premiere date after it was previously announced that RHOP would be returning for Season 5 on May 3, Andy explained why it is "a smart decision." "The virus has shifted production schedules for all our shows," he tweeted. "There are currently two great Housewives series running. Would rather have fresh content later than none."
As Andy mentioned, two new seasons of The Real Housewives just kicked off earlier this month: The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Wednesdays at 8/7c, and you'll find news episodes of The Real Housewives of New York City on Thursdays at 9/8c.
Plus, we also have a Real Housewives reunion to look forward to. The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 12 reunion just filmed virtually, and it was "epic," according to Andy. "The Atlanta Housewives, man, they're trailblazers. They worked so hard to make that reunion happen. We had days of technical rehearsals and stuff just to make sure it would look good. And I think it did," Andy said in his recent Instagram Story of taping this season's RHOA sit-down. "Believe it or not, content-wise there's so much stuff there and tipping my hat to the Atlanta Housewives today."
As for RHOP, it will be everything you wanted and more when it premieres this summer. "It's unbelievable," Andy said of the upcoming season of RHOP on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in February. "Great personal story and a lot of drama within the group that will surprise you."
