It's pretty hard to keep anything a secret in this day and age, especially when you live your life in the public eye, as Ryan Serhant and his wife, Emilia Bechrakis, do. However, the Million Dollar Listing New York couple was somehow able to keep the news that they were expecting their first child under wraps for nine months until they welcomed their baby girl, Zena, into the world on February 26.

Emilia explained why this was one part of her and Ryan's life that they didn't share with fans in a recent Instagram post. "I felt such a need to be private about my pregnancy on social media because I had so many ups and downs. I found the anxiety overwhelming," Emilia shared in a post that also features a black-and-white photo of her with her baby bump during her pregnancy. "But through all the fears, scares, sickness, and aches, I loved every moment. Even the hardest moments. Every kick, every hiccup, every heartbeat, every ultrasound visit..."

Though Emilia's pregnancy definitely wasn't easy, she said that she now misses the experience one week after giving birth to daughter Zena. "I know this sounds crazy but I miss my belly already. Having my baby safe in my belly...carrying her around with me everywhere," Emilia wrote in the post. "Now I stare at her all day and night because I don’t want to miss a single thing. Feeling those baby blues."

Emilia remarked how in awe she is of the miracle of birth in another recent post on Instagram that features a photo of another look at her baby bump. "Never really paid attention to how amazing the body is until now. It’s truly miraculous to be able to create life," she wrote. "I’m so grateful and humbled."

Ryan and Emilia, who wed on July 7, 2016 in Greece, opened up about their desire to start a family in Season 7 of MDLNY. However, trying for a baby "hasn't been as easy as we thought it was going to be," according to Ryan. "I'm 33, she's 32. We've been to doctors, we've been checked out. We're both fine," Ryan said on the show. "So we're now at the point where if we want to start a family, the next steps are to do IVF."

Ryan then confirmed that he and Emilia ultimately decided to undergo IVF in order to conceive while announcing the news of his daughter's birth on Instagram on March 3. In fact, their journey to become parents was almost a three-year-long process, Ryan said. "When we finally decided to try IVF, we were so scared it wouldn’t work. And then you stuck. And then we heard your little heartbeat for the first time. Your mom and I were so excited every time we would go to the hospital to see you, but even more terrified we would lose you. Because the fact that we were pregnant - as beautiful as it was - was almost too good to be true," Ryan shared on Instagram. "And because of that fear, we loved you as hard as we could from the moment we knew you existed. We thought if we put that love for you out there, you would hear it, and you would make it. I watched you grow slowly with your momma every day, waiting for the moment I would finally meet you. I feel like I’ve spent my whole life working towards this moment, when everything would make sense. One day when you read this, I hope you can look back and be proud."

In that same post, Ryan also praised Emilia's strength throughout her pregnancy. "And please go and give your Mom a BIG kiss because she’s a true warrior, a fighter with the biggest heart, and the Queen of my world. Seriously - one day we will tell you about all the shots, the pain, the sickness, and what birth was like for your Mom on Tuesday the 26th - it was insane!" he said. "We love you now and forever, our new, beautiful, little puff."

Emilia previously opened up about the "long, painful journey" she took to become a mom in a post on Instagram. "Now that you’re finally here, and I get to stare into your eyes, to smell your skin, to hold you, my heart is bursting," she gushed in the post. "I can’t find the perfect words to describe how madly in love I am. I am forever grateful...my babylino, that you chose me to be your Mommy."
