Kristen Doute Defends Scheana Shay's Racy Acting Past

The #PumpRules star thinks her friend wasn't hypocritical for calling out Lala Kent's modeling.

Katie and Scheana Confront New SURver Lala

Scheana Shay gave Vanderpump Rules newbie Lala Kent a hard time for her supposed modeling jobs earlier this season. However, when reports surfaced that Scheana had appeared in a few episodes of the raunchy Cinemax series Femme Fatales in 2012, some wondered if the SURver was being a little hypocritical.

How to Watch

Watch Vanderpump Rules on Bravo Tuesdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app.

But now Kristen Doute has come to Scheana's defense — and took a few shots at Lala in the process. "First of all, Lala's 'modeling gigs' — that's the best way to put it — it was not a modeling gig," Kristen said during a recent interview with New York Live. "I've seen Lala's 'modeling photos,' and they look more like selfies on Model Mayhem to me, whereas Scheana, yes she did a racy Cinemax show [that] had some very notable actors. And you know, it's on a very great network, so it's an acting job. She was younger. She did it. I don't think it's necessarily for everyone, but one has nothing to do with the other. Not at all."

Kristen didn't hold back during the interview. Earlier on the show, she said she's having a hard time watching her ex James Kennedy on Vanderpump Rules this season. "It's just so gross. I spent a year-and-a-half trying to teach him not to do such things and to learn from my mistakes," Kristen said. "It's one thing to make these mistakes and have them be filmed if you're making these mistakes in life — and he is very young — but to not be remorseful about it and then to be, like, bragging about it, it's just, like, God."

For the record, she's not buying James and Lala's whirlwind romance. "I think that it's very inauthentic," Kristen explained. "I think they're just kind of using each other to get attention and to stir the pot and, you know, take it away from the OG cast, if you will. They're threatened. I think it's a little bit of a sham. I don't buy it. I don't buy either of them."

Things have definitely been a little tense between Kristen, James, and Lala on Vanderpump Rules this season. Relive one of their more uncomfortable moments in the clip, below.
