Shep Rose Clarifies His Comments on the Paternity of Kathryn Dennis & Thomas Ravenel's Son
The #SouthernCharm pal reveals what he really meant in a recent interview about the duo's child.
When news first hit Charleston that Kathryn C. Dennis and Thomas Ravenel had welcomed a second baby together last year, the Southern Charm crew had some questions about the paternity of the child — as seen in the clip above. Now, Shep Rose is addressing the chatter that spread after Kathryn revealed she was pregnant for the second time.
"I didn't believe it. Nobody did. I heard it was a rumor," Shep told People. "Honestly it was probably not the best idea, but what do I know? Her life as a young lady, [the time] you might want to have fun, is over. So I empathize with that, but it totally takes two to tango. I don't know what either of them were thinking but my first thought was: Is it his baby? That was all of our thoughts because they weren't dating at the time. And she was dating other people." Despite being briefly involved with Kathryn in Season 1, Shep clarified the extent of their relationship. "It certainly wasn't mine," he said. "I slept with her first season, but statute of limitations tells you it can't be mine."
However, after the interview was published, Shep headed to Twitter to clarify what he meant in case anyone thought he was courting controversy. "For the record, I now know it's Thomas' child," he wrote on Monday. "But in the beginning there was definitely speculation."
Kathryn gave birth to her second child with Thomas, a son named St. Julien, last November. They also have a 2-year-old daughter, Kensington. Thomas recently stopped by The Daily Dish HQ to chat about his role as dad. Hear what he had to say about being a pop, below.
