Sonja Morgan: the Next Top Chef?

Not exactly, but the NYC 'Wife is penning a cookbook filled with recipes for the toaster oven.

By Lauren Metz

Sonja Morgan's secret to being a success in the kitchen isn't nearly as glitzy or gourmet as you would expect. In fact, her luxe meals aren't prepared by top-notch chefs — instead the Real Housewives of New York City star lets her toaster oven do all the work.

You may be thinking "How's that possible?" And you are not alone. Sonja received so many requests to share her easy-breezy recipes that she decided to put together a toaster-friendly cookbook.

"Everything is very healthy. I'm body conscious... and nowadays we live longer. We want to look good longer, so I have to have healthy food and need to be able to do it quickly," she tells RadarOnline about plans for the book that will be released in six months.

This low-key cookbook's also likely to get a royal seal of approval -- and not just from Countess Luann. "I did roasted garlic out of the toaster oven for Count Volpi of Venice, and when I entertained at my home in the South of France I cooked bruschetta and beets with goat cheese," Sonja says.

Even though Sonja's attracting a foodie following for her expertise, she does admit to flubbing up recipes once in a while.  "I had Luann and Kelly (Bensimon) over and I made my mom's broiled white fish in the toaster oven... I got all fancy on myself and instead of using one of the cheaper white fish I got filet of sole, and it shrunk down to nothing. Even after 20 years of experience I try to take it to another level for the Countess and I foiled myself!"
