Craig Conover Reveals His Big Career Plans for 2023
The Southern Charm cast member already has a slate of projects lined up for the new year — one of which involves his girlfriend, Paige DeSorbo.
2023 is shaping up to be a big year for Craig Conover and his career. The Southern Charm cast member opened up about all of his upcoming plans in a recent interview with Men’s Health magazine, and we’ve broken them down below.
Sewing Down South
Craig’s sewing and lifestyle brand just launched in several Fred Meyer stores. “We have an amazing relationship blooming with them,” he said, adding that overall, his company has “hit an incredible threshold,” especially since “we’re only a couple years old.”
However, with growth comes lots of pressure. Discussing how many employees he’s hired since Sewing Down South launched, Craig said, “Seeing all those people really helps me be like ‘you have so much more to lose than just you. There’s a lot of people depending on you now,’ so I take that in stride. Sometimes it gets a little nerve wracking.”
As for what’s next for Sewing Down South? Sheets, bedding, and sleeping pillows, not to mention an entire line with his girlfriend, Summer House cast member Paige DeSorbo. As Craig told Men’s Health, “[It’s] really exciting; finally a black-and-white line for our people that don’t necessarily have ‘Coastal Chic’ houses or designs.”
Pillows and Beer
A podcast made in conjunction with Craig’s Southern Charm bestie Austen Kroll, Pillows and Beer allows the pair to “discuss their lives outside of reality TV and show who they are behind the camera,” according to the podcast’s official description. They’ve already recorded more than 75 episodes and taken the podcast on tour, and Craig told Men’s Health they want to get back out on the road in the future. “The podcast is going great,” he said, “and we’re hoping to go back on tour soon.”
Carriage House
ICYMI, Craig and Austen are opening a restaurant in New York City — more specifically, the West Village — called Carriage House. As Craig described it, “Our restaurant is going to be a new take on American classics: peanut butter and jelly and London broil but Wagyu beef.”
“It’s a really cool take,” he added. “Jordan Andino is an incredible chef.”
A New Venture: The Craig Conover Foundation
According to Craig, “the philanthropic side has always been the goal.”
“We just got the paperwork back for the Craig Conover Foundation,” he continued. “The only reason I’ve ever wanted to make money is because I enjoy giving it away. I just enjoy helping. I know you can help without making money, but to me, the type of help that I want to do is going to require me to be in a financially strong position. Success to me is if every year we can expand our philanthropic efforts.”
