Kathryn C. Dennis Wishes She Was "More Prepared for the World" in Season 1 of Southern Charm
Here's what the Southern Charm mom of two wishes she knew back then.
Kathryn C. Dennis has certainly come a long way in five seasons of Southern Charm. When we first met Kathryn back in Season 1, she was a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed 21-year-old who was enjoying the Charleston social scene.
Fast-forward five seasons, and Kathryn's life is now totally different. The 26-year-old has made a home for herself and her two children with 50/50 custody of daughter Kensie, 4, and son St. Julien, 2, after dealing with some personal challenges. Now we can't wait to see what's next for the Southern Charm mom.
But if Kathryn could hop in a time machine and do it all over again, there are some things she would make sure to tell her younger self about life. "It's so funny, like, Season 1 Kathryn, yeah, that was a whole different person. I was such a child," Kathryn told The Daily Dish before the taping of the Southern Charm Season 5 reunion (clip above). "Like, when they did the flashback with my grandmother [this season], I was like, Jesus, I don't [know] that person. Who is that person? It's crazy."
Kathryn, who grew up in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, said that living in such a small town, she didn't know that people were "even capable of certain things" back then. "I kind of wish I was a little more prepared for the world in that sense," she said of her Season 1 self.
After overcoming so many obstacles, Kathryn said during the Southern Charm After Show that she has felt a newfound respect from fans this season. "Just dealing with it all in the public eye, I think people have seen me not become defeated by it but rather become a better person and a much more involved, enlightened human," she shared.
