5 Things You Didn't See on the Southern Charm Guys' RV Trip

Get behind-the-scenes secrets from Shep Rose, Craig Conover, Whitney Sudler-Smith, and Austen Kroll's disastrous camping adventure.

By Andrew Herrmann

When Shep Rose, Craig Conover, and Whitney Sudler-Smith whisked Austen Kroll away on an RV camping trip to help him get over that breakup with Madison LeCroy, it quickly became a bumpy ride for the Southern Charm crew. But there was so much more you didn't see besides the guys arguing about over-salted meat! Luckily for you, the Southern Charm-ers are spilling all the sweet tea on what went down behind the scenes of that camping catastrophe. Get a sneak peek below and check out the Behind the Episode special on Sunday, August 18 at 9/8c for even more juicy secrets.

1. How Much Beer Did Austen Bring?

How to Watch

Watch Southern Charm on Peacock and the Bravo App.

Austen only brought one case of Trop Hop along because he knew the guys weren’t "craft beer guys."

2. How Bad Did that RV Really Smell?

Producers say "not too much" farting occurred on the RV, but by the time the RV arrived at the campsite, it smelled like "stale beer and dude."

3. There Was a Reason They Ran 2 Hours Behind Schedule

Shep revealed the RV arrived later than expected because "Craig lost his passport in an Applebee's parking lot."

4. A Near Accident Almost Derailed the Trip

Also not seen in this episode? Shep shared this crazy moment: "Craig tried to put a metal bowl with rice in the microwave and almost exploded the RV. And he tried telling us that putting metal in the microwave is not a big deal — which obviously it is."

5. The Guys Had Help Starting Their Fire

Austen admits that after the campsite next to them went to bed, they "stole embers from their fire pit." He explains: "We brought it back to ours, put a bunch of wood in it, and all of a sudden the fire's going."

Itching to know more, like what some of the Southern Charm ladies thought about the guys' misadventures? Or why Austen compares the whole experience to the Fyre Festival? Make sure to catch the full Behind the Episode special of "A Salt and Battery" on Sunday, August 18 at 9/8c!
