Stassi Schroeder's "Absolute Worst Fear" Has Something to Do with Her Breast Reduction Scars
The #PumpRules pal opens up about life after her surgery.
Stassi Schroeder has never been one to hide her flaws. In fact, she's showing them off in a photo revealing the scars from the breast reduction surgery she underwent in November 2015.
The Vanderpump Rules fashionista recently told PEOPLE that she made it a point to tell photographer Martina Tolot to not Photoshop them out. “I was like ‘Don’t edit out my scars.’ They’re awesome. I like being myself and I feel that everyone should embrace themselves,” she explained. “It’s a scar! Scars are pretty! It’s almost like a birthmark or something like that where it’s something to not be ashamed of.”
Stassi has also been applying this mentality to her love life. “Especially when I was single last year and started dating and then obviously you get intimate with someone and they’re like ‘What is that?’" she shared. "And for a split second I remember being embarrassed and then like saying ‘F--- that.'"
Stassi underwent a breast reduction surgery nearly two years ago and went from a size DDD to D. “My nipples are seven inches higher than they used to be and it’s awesome. I refuse to wear a bra now,” she said. “I refuse to wear a bra because I’m so excited that I have smaller boobs and that my nipples are not pointed down to my knees. It is one of the best decisions that I ever made.”
Now Stassi said that she couldn't imagine not being open and honest about her scars. "If this is what my body looks like with these scars, then that’s what they are. I don’t want to pretend that I’m something that I’m not," she told PEOPLE. "That is my f---ing absolute worst fear. It drives me insane when other people act like that.”
Stassi has also been candid with fans about her struggle with psoriasis. "Because I know if I go on another girl's blog or if I'm looking at her Instagram — I stalk tons of female celebrities, too — I don't like feeling bad about myself. I don't like when people pretend everything's perfect, it's not," Stassi told The Daily Dish in January 2016. "We all need to come down to the same level and teach each other and learn from each other on how to fix those things that we don't like about ourselves. It makes people happy."
