Tamra Judge Slams Tabloid Report About Her Granddaughter's Health

The #RHOC glamma is setting the record straight about Ava Ryan.

By Jocelyn Vena

Tamra Judge is responding to talk about her granddaughter Ava Ryan's rumored health issues, following a Radar report that says the family is "facing a scary medical crisis." The Real Housewives of Orange County grandma confirms that Ava Ryan, born in February 2015, does have one functioning kidney, but notes in a Facebook post that "my granddaughter is not having a health crisis as reported. Yes she has only one functioning kidney, she is healthy and happy despite what was reported today. How dare that Doctor give his opinion without knowing her (what kind of doctor does that? Oh the kind that won't return calls) shame on them for writing about a innocent baby. Thank you Real Mr. Housewife for going to the source to find out the truth. ‪#‎reputable‬."

The doctor Tamra is referring to is F. Perry Wilson, who spoke to Radar about his theory on the condition, despite not actually being the child's doctor. Ava's mother, Sarah Rodriguez, spoke to Real Mr. Housewife to set the record straight. Sarah says that over time Ava was diagnosed with a multi-cystic dysplastic kidney. "That definition is it has no function and usually involutes or shrinks away with time. What that means is she didn’t have a functioning kidney and it kind of disintegrated into tissue," Sarah said. "A lot of the times it’s not detectable on ultrasounds because it’s dead tissues. In the easiest terms, it means it disappeared.”

“The right kidney grew for the left kidney being absent. Her right kidney is doing the job of both which is amazing," Sarah continued. "Long term, they want to see her every six months with an ultrasound so they can make sure whatever caused the left kidney to disintegrate doesn’t happen to the right kidney.”

Now that that's all cleared up, check out some more photos of Tamra and her family, below.
