Teresa Giudice Says *This* Felt Like a “Knife Right Through My Heart”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member came upon the realization while watching past episodes ahead of Season 13.
There’s no better way to count down the days until The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 13 than by watching old episodes — and that’s exactly what Teresa Giudice is doing.
In a new interview with People, Teresa revealed that she’s never taken the time to do so before. However, ahead of the show’s return on February 7 — and amid drama with her brother, Joe Gorga — Teresa “wanted to educate” herself on past encounters with both Joe and his wife, Melissa Gorga.
“I’ve been seeing all this on Instagram, these accounts that are posting past episodes. And I’m watching and I’m like, ‘My brother said that? My sister-in-law said that?’ So then I started watching and I’m like, ‘Now I got my answer,’” Teresa said. “But I couldn’t watch it [initially] because it was so hard for me to relive it.”
That may have been for the better, though. As Teresa put it, “[It’s a] good thing I didn’t watch it back then, because now I’m seeing what my brother and my sister-in-law [were] saying about me back then, oh my god. It was like a knife right through my heart. I think I would’ve reacted differently if I would’ve watched the show.”
As RHONJ fans are surely aware, things are currently tense between the siblings. In speaking to People, Teresa didn’t specify what past events or comments she was referencing, but she did say that, moving forward, she simply intends to “liv[e] in my truth.”
“I finally came to my truth and I’m not going to accept this toxicity anymore,” Teresa added. “And I am going to be the mama bear, protect my family.”
More specifically, in 2023, “I just want peace, love, happiness, and health,” Teresa said. “Life is short, it’s very valuable, so you have to value the time that you have on this earth and surround yourself with good people, good vibes, people that are happy for you.”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 13 premieres Tuesday, February 7, at 9 p.m. ET/PT with a 75-minute supersize episode. Each week, the episode will stream next day on Peacock.
