The Real Housewives of Dallas' D'Andra Simmons Addresses Her Claims About Brandi Redmond and Adderall
Does the RHOD entrepreneur regret her comments?
Brandi Redmond has a bone to pick with D'Andra Simmons this season of The Real Housewives of Dallas. The RHOD mom shared in the Season 3 premiere Wednesday night that she had heard D'Andra claimed Brandi abuses Adderall during an interview with a podcast that had subsequently been picked up by the blogs. Brandi declined the invitation to D'Andra's fourth wedding anniversary party as a result.
D'Andra explained her comments during a recent interview with PEOPLE Now. “It was an interview about me and somebody asked me what my biggest fear was. I said my biggest fear was I was worried about my weight. I’ve always worried about my weight, I’ve always had a weight problem and all these girls are so thin. I said, ‘Oh, but you know, they all take Adderall.' It was a generalization, because it’s a Dallas thing, that women, you know — ‘Would you like a Tic Tac? Would you like an Adderall? Would you like a drink?’"
D'Andra went on to say that she "misspoke," and she now regrets making those comments. “I did the wrong thing and I own up to it, so I apologized to her,” she said.
Brandi shared in her latest Bravotv.com blog that she felt like D'Andra's comments came out of left field. "I was honestly shocked at her claim about me abusing Adderall. It made me feel disgusted because she had not taken the time to question me, get to know me or find out if I had even remotely had a problem," she wrote. "She should have come directly to me out of concern. It didn’t seem like the person that I thought she was for so long."
Though D'Andra is taking responsibility for her mistakes, she also shared that she and Brandi could have hashed out their issues prior to her anniversary party in her blog on Bravotv.com. "The whole thing could have been cleared up with a phone call, and I would have most definitely owned up to the things I said. I don’t know if she wasn’t ready to hear my apology before or if she was too busy to confront me. It would have been nice to have our issues behind us to celebrate the occasion as friends," she wrote. "I am sorry for the things that I said in a podcast last year. It was never a personal attack on you!"
What will happen when D'Andra and Brandi finally come face-to-face in next Wednesday's episode of RHOD at 9/8c? Check out a sneak peek, above.
