Here's Why "Paterson Dolores" Came out During The Real Housewives of New Jersey Cabo Drama
"A switch went off... thank god I walked away!" Dolores Catania said.
Is it just us, or is everyone still recovering from all of the drama that went down during The Real Housewives of New Jersey trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico? We got to see the dramatic conclusion to the ladies' final dinner during their vacay, which began in last week's episode. Danielle Staub had brought up Margaret Josephs' relationship with her children, the Powerhouse in Pigtails tossed a glass of red wine, and plenty of chaos ensued.
The fighting turned out to be contagious as Melissa Gorga accused Jennifer Aydin of throwing a glass. Jennifer then actually broke a glass, which prompted the usually even-keeled Dolores Catania to get worked up and get all up in Jennifer's grill. But Dolores walked away before she did "something I may have regretted," as she said during the episode. Watch the New Jersey Housewives give a full play-by-play of what Dolores considers to be the "best fight in Housewife history" in The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 9 After Show, above.
Andy Cohen also noticed the uncharacteristic behavior Dolores displayed during that heated moment on RHONJ during Wednesday night's Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. "I got to tell you something, we don't see that side of you come out very often, but when you were over there by the elevators, I was like, 'Oh yeah, that's 'Paterson Dolores,' right?'" he remarked, referring to her hometown of Paterson, New Jersey.
"Paterson Dolores" definitely reminded us of that classic moment from Season 2 of RHONJ when Teresa Giudice uttered the iconic line, "I'm from Paterson. Did you forget?" during her argument with Danielle at the Posche fashion show. Oh, how times have changed!
Dolores then explained on WWHL why she seemed to be fuming after the dinner. "To get to that point, it takes a lot to calm down. I knew I had to walk away. It was funny because Danielle was in between us, and Danielle was like, 'Not Dolo! Not Dolores! Anybody but Dolores.' And Jen was just smashed," she recalled. "Danielle is crazy enough to know that point when she gets somebody to that point that something's going to happen. Danielle's been around the block more than once."
Dolores also shared on Twitter during the episode that "a switch went off" during that moment in Cabo. "Thank god I walked away!" she tweeted.
We think there might be something about girls' trips that makes Dolores act this way, and she agrees.
We wonder if "Paterson Dolores" will make an appearance at the reunion?
