The Ultimate July 4th Cocktails from America’s Top Bars
It's almost Independence Day, and that means BBQs, beaches, bikinis, and booze, are we right? (USA! USA!)
Whether you’re planning to celebrate by whipping up your own refreshing concoctions at home, or having a pro make them for you, get excited for the upcoming holiday with these recipes from top bars and clubs around the country.
The Patriot
Located by the beach in Los Angeles, Shorebar from the H.wood Group naturally emphasizes cocktails made with fresh fruit — just right for a Southern California summer spent sipping alfresco. Try the venue’s vodka-based cocktail, conceived by food and beverage creative director Adam Koral. It has a sweet, berry flavor — and a bold, red look just right for the holiday.
1 ounce Ciroc red berry
1 ounce rosé wine
1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
1/2 ounce simple syrup
2 ounce berry tea
Berries for garnish
Mix and serve over ice in a wine glass.
The Greenbelt
Austin’s popular Whisler’s bar offers its own Oaxacan-style mezcalería right upstairs — so it knows from Mexican spirits. Try the bar’s easy take on a margarita — summertime’s timeless classic.
1 ounce Cimarron Blanco tequila
1/2 ounce Genepy
1/2 ounce Velvet Falernum
1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
1 ounce verditas

Lone Star State
Located off the tip of Miami Beach, Fisher Island is the former retreat of William K. Vanderbilt II and an uber-exclusive private island club. (Yes, please.) Fisher Island Club appropriately serves a fussy-ish July 4th cocktail fit for the one percent — but you can try a version whether or not you qualify!
2 ounces Tito’s Vodka
1 ounce organic raspberry puree
1/2 ounce lemon juice
1/2 ounce organic agave nectar
5 mint leaves
6 to 8 blueberries
Sparkling wine to top off
Muddle mint, agave nectar, lemon juice, and raspberries into a puree. Add blueberries and vodka. Ice generously and shake vigorously. Serve in collins glass, and top with sparkling wine. Garnish with speared berries and a mint sprig.
