This Week's 'Top Chef All-Stars': What They're Saying

An overdue elimination, or is something fishy afoot?

By Rachel Stein

Dale's a natural fisherman, Fabio and Richard are besties, and Angelo would make a good merman. We learned a lot during last night's episode of Top Chef All-Stars, and so did you. Here's what other people are saying about this week's lesson plan, "We're Gonna Need a Bigger Boat":

The Critics

"I must say, I was more on the edge of my seat this episode than any this season. I was ready to flip out if Jamie stuck around while Richard went home."
Jon Watson, Access Atlanta

"Tiffani has really become quite likeable since her season. Jamie wouldn't change anything she's done, like the sucking and the failing to produce food most of the time."
Michelle Weber, Huffington Post

"One chef from each team deserved to go. Two from one team just seemed wrong. And what's with the judges' desire to get rid of the women so fast?"
Allison Waldman, TV Squad

"Well, Jamie was overdue, and Tiffani has really struggled. I thought she would do better, honestly, but she definitely has had a reputation rehab. Jamie, um, not so much."
Kim, Television Without Pity

"The moral of this week's episode is: Don't forget to remove the blood line from the bluefish of your life!"
MrHippity, Gawker

"[Carla's] prize is a trip to Amsterdam, and the thought of doing Amsterdam up right with Carla quickly replaces a fishing trip with Tom Colicchio as the greatest-sounding thing ever."
Mikey O'Connell, Zap2it

The Viewers
"There goes my girl Carla, winning another elimination challenge as the underdog! Her fishing skills might suck, but she's won another European trip based on her Jedi badassery in the kitchen. I would eat anything she wanted to feed me, even if she caught it off a garbage scow."
DohDohWoohoo, TWoP Forums

"Dale and Angelo are doing as well as I had predicted, while Richard is (again) under-delivering a bit in the more casual challenges. I'm still pretty sure he'll make it to the finale, but a lot of his fans seem to forget how often he was struggling in season 4 (the paella and the poorly-scaled fish spring to mind), and he still doesn't seem to have as much range as someone like Dale, who can cook seemingly any sort of food well, even under time constraints."
Erik Koie, Bravotv.com

"I think Marcel is honest of his opinions to a fault. It's interesting."
rustyspigot, TWoP Forums

"Poor Jamie. She did not cook well on this season, but I don't think that's any reason for people to act like that hate her. She's a laid back person. It's not like she murdered someone. Give her a break."
cutetay7, Bravotv.com

"I was kind of surprised that Jamie didn't pull up a scallop on the end of her line."
stopeslite, TWoP Forums
