Throwback Thursday: Reza Without a 'Stache
The Shahs of Sunset star looks radically different sans his trademark chevron.
Ever wonder what our Bravolebs looked like before they were Bravolebs? Each Thursday, we'll celebrate #TBT and dig through the archives for a vintage photo from the past—or revisit a memorable moment from one of our shows—and share some back story on the picture. This week, we re-visit a photo gallery of Reza Farahan through the years!
For Bravo viewers, it may be hard to imagine a time before Shahs of Sunset star Reza Farahan sported his signature ‘stache. Yet, prior to his role as the witty peacemaker of his flashy, Persian clique, this throwback photo shows a youthful, clean-shaven Reza spending some quality time with his dad. Also, we’d be remiss not to mention that couch’s lavish, gold trim!
Born in Tehran, Iran, but raised in Beverly Hills, Reza didn’t always have the easiest time growing up gay. Viewers got an inside look at Reza’s complicated, emotional relationship with his father last season when he made the trek back to New York for Rosh Hashanah dinner. While the trip definitely had its share of tears, Reza ultimately left in a content place of peace with his pops.
Fun Fact: Reza’s thick and wide mustache style is commonly known as a Chevron. Some other iconic Chevron ‘staches include Burt Reynolds, Ron Jeremy, Jeff Foxworthy and NASCAR driver Richard Petty.
Catch more of Reza when the new season of Shahs of Sunset premieres Movember 5, at 10/9c.
