Tia Mowry Shares Her Side of That Charlize Theron SoulCycle Beef
The actresses clear up what really happened at exercise class in 2014.
Many of Hollywood's most notable feuds — and some of its stranger ones — tend to get cleared up on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. So is the case with the bizarre feud between TV twin Tia Mowry and film star Charlize Theron, a battle that, as it turns out, probably wasn't based in reality.
Back in 2014, Tia told In Touch that she ran into Charlize at a SoulCycle class and got a frosty reception: "She wasn't very nice to me. I said, 'Hi,' and she actually rolled her eyes and said, 'Oh, my God.' I wasn't over-the-top. I know how to approach another celebrity. Charlize was just mean. I'm just being honest."
Cut to 2017: "I'm obsessed with this story," admitted Andy Cohen when he asked Charlize, now three years later, if it was true that she rolled her eyes and got Tia banned from SoulCycle class.
"What a bitch!" Charlize exclaimed on WWHL this week, clearly kidding. "I'm really nice at SoulCycle actually because once my endorphins kick in I'm actually really, like, I'm almost too friendly. I'm, like, touching people. I'm, like, 'Heyyyy!'
"I'm not an eye roller," she asserted. If she was annoyed, she explained, "I'd be like, 'F*** off."
Charlize doesn't ever remember meeting Tia. "I don't think so, but I'm sorry if you were there," she says.
Now, Tia appears to be backing off of her old characterization. "The only thing I have to say about that is I don't know Charlize," Tia told E! News this week. "It was all blown out of proportion. I respect her. I think she's amazing."
