Bravo’s Top Chef Runner-Up Sara Bradley Welcomes Her First Child
The Season 16 finalist is officially a mom.
Baby Bradley is here! Bravo’s Top Chef Season 16 runner-up Sara Bradley has welcomed her first child, a girl, with husband Austin Martin.
Sara announced the happy news as she introduced daughter Lula Bea to the world for the very first time in a post published on Instagram on June 3. Lula was born at 10:48 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, weighing 6 pounds, 10 ounces and measuring 20 1/2 inches long. "We are all happy, healthy, and in love," Sara gushed in the post.
The Kentucky native announced that she was expecting "the newest cook in the kitchen" by sharing a sonogram of her daughter on Instagram in December. In the months since announcing her pregnancy news, Sara has kept fans up-to-date on her road to motherhood on Instagram, sharing all the food and fun she's been having.
One of the things Sara said she was most excited about becoming a mom is, unsurprisingly, teaching her child how to cook. "I think that it’s really important for people to cook with their children," Sara told The Feast in April. "One of the things I’m most excited about starting my new family is being able to teach my child how to cook."
Sara, who is the chef and proprietor of freight house in Paducah, Kentucky, has had a lot to celebrate these days. She recently marked the one-year anniversary of the beginning of her Top Chef journey on Instagram, "one of a handful of anniversaries I will never forget," Sara said in the post. "At that moment, I can’t exactly say I felt super confident about how far I could go, but I was still up to the challenge," Sara said of the three-and-a-half-hour drive to Louisville, Kentucky to begin the competition. "I like to think it turned out OK. Happy anniversary to one of the biggest days of my life! Right behind that finale episode, that is."
