California will serve as the homebase this time around, with Tom Colicchio, Gail Simmons, Padma Lakshmi and Richard Blais touring the Golden State to find the nation's next great culinary talent.
Season 13 will return to San Francisco and Los Angeles, where the series began, while also making stops in San Diego, Santa Barbara, Oakland, and the Greater Palm Springs area.
"We’re going to be all over the place,” Tom tells the L.A. Times. "We’re moving around a lot more than we ever moved around before. I don’t even know where we’re heading right now, but obviously this leads us into a lot of different options."
Set to premiere this fall, Cheftestants will battle it out in iconic destinations across the Golden State to see if they have what it takes to earn the title and culinary bragging rights. Production begins this spring.
