The Real Housewives of New York City ladies may have what it takes to bring their synchronized swimming skills all the way to the Olympics … or not.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New York City on Bravo Tuesdays at 9/8c and stream next day on Peacock. Catch up on Bravo.

RHONY Season 15, Episode 14 showed them on an unforgettable vacation in Puerto Rico, swimming legs and all. In the episode, Brynn Whitfield, Jessel Taank, Ubah Hassan, Racquel Chevremont, Erin Lichy, Sai De Silva, and Rebecca Minkoff headed to the luxury pool for a round of night swimming.

Snazzy swimming caps were provided, compliments of their trusted Team Captain Jenna Lyons.

“I think I fell in love with synchronized swimming when I was in the sixth grade,” Jenna told producers. “Honestly, if there was a gay synchronized swimming team, I would be the first person to sign up.”

Ubah said the group’s synchronized swimming routine was actually an encore to one they choreographed during their girls’ trip to Anguilla in Season 14. The model said she was inspired to request the performance when watching the ocean view from their accommodations.

“I have a video, by the way,” Ubah said with Rebecca by her side. “Yeah, so, they start doing it: Jenna, Erin, and Sai, in a beautiful sunset, and they lost the tape.”

Bravo HQ, however, shared a clip with a split screen with the three Housewives in an infinity pool overlooking the sea. Each wore sunglasses, opening and closing their arms in uniform against the scenic backdrop.

“The viewers never [got] to see that,” Ubah continued. “But it started in Anguilla.”

Can the RHONY women take their routine to the Olympics?

Well, the chances of the Housewives joining Team U.S.A. are slim to none, according to most of them.

“We will definitely not win any Olympic medals for synchronized swimming,” Rebecca told Bravo HQ.

Brynn, however, disagreed.

“We’re ready to go to the Olympics …” Brynn laughed. “If we want to embarrass the country.”

In the recent episode, the women gave their best at a graceful routine. While it momentarily brought peace among them, Racquel told producers the routine was comparable to “a dying animal.” Some were accidentally slapped in the face. Some nearly drowned. And as soon as the dance ceased, drama continued to escalate.

Racquel told Bravo HQ that afterward, she even sent Jenna a video showing Team U.S.A., jokingly asking if the Housewives were ready to go for gold. But, Racquel said, Jenna responded, “Yeah, I don’t think so.”

“I mean, it’s an emotional success,” Jenna said in the RHONY episode. “I don’t know about a visual success, but it’s an emotional success.”

There is no harm in dreaming big!

But Ubah told Bravo HQ that she loved her colorful, floral swimming cap so much that she ended up wearing it for the rest of the evening, calling the accessory “amazing.”

Jessel admitted to being the “weak link” in the pool, and it could have been because of her cap.

“I was just so worried about my hair and the f---ing hat, what it looks like, ’cause I dressed up cute,” Jessel said. “I looked so cute, and then, I had to wear this cap.”

Hopefully, Jessel’s ill feelings about the cap won’t be a repeat of what we saw in RHONY Season 14 when Jessel lost it over Jenna’s now-infamous Christmas tree lingerie gift. But, when asked by Bravo HQ about her thoughts on the swimming routine, Jessel rolled her eyes, wondering aloud, “Are we 50 years old?”
