Does James Kennedy Plan to Pay Tom Sandoval Back for His Elaborate Proposal?

Plus, Andy revealed that he gave James’ new girlfriend’s mom some advice about watching Vanderpump Rules.

Raquel Leviss and James Kennedy’s engagement may have ended in December 2021, but viewers still have some lingering questions about the DJ’s “Rachella”-themed proposal.

How to Watch

Watch Vanderpump Rules on Bravo Tuesdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app.

As Vanderpump Rules fans may remember, James’ longtime pal and fellow cast member Tom Sandoval split the $25,000 cost of the May 2021 proposal. On a Season 9 episode of the show, the Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras singer said he paid for part of the big day because “nothing brings [him] more joy than to help a friend accomplish a dream that they have.”

Since James and Raquel broke up just a mere seven months later, did Sandoval ever regret shelling out thousands of dollars for the proposal?

Raquel Leviss Was "Shocked" When James Kennedy Proposed to Her

During the Season 9 reunion, Sandoval said that spending the money was “worth it, tenfold” even if the couple didn’t work out. On the February 8 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Sandoval reiterated that sentiment when he was asked again if he has any regrets. “Hell no,” he responded, while his bestie, Tom Schwartz, agreed that the gesture “came from a good place.”

Sandoval may not regret his financial contribution to James’ engagement, but does the Brit have any plans to repay the Schwartz & Sandy’s co-owner?

On the After Show for the February 22 episode of WWHL, James admitted that he doesn't intend to reimburse Sandoval for his efforts at Rachella.

“For the record, I did end up spending more than Tom [did] on that day, but no,” James said when a fan asked about giving Sandoval his money back (which you can check out in the clip above).

“He doesn’t regret spending that much money,” James continued. “He’s just that good of a friend, like, that’s Sandoval. He does acts of kindness in the moment, and I don’t think he’d feel right asking me back for money.”

He added that the friends have “moved well past this moment.”

James certainly has moved on from his past engagement, as he’s been in a relationship with Ally Lewber for more than a year. Ally was in the Clubhouse audience during James’ appearance on WWHL, and host Andy Cohen revealed that he actually met her mom during BravoCon 2022.

Andy told James about the “advice” he gave Ally’s mom, which was to “watch the show” back.
