Vicki Gunvalson’s Daughter Briana’s “Doing Much Better”

The Real Housewives of Orange County’s Vicki Gunvalson can let out a mah-jor woo-hoo! 

When her daughter Briana Wolfsmith underwent surgery on her thyroid five months ago, doctors feared they would discover the “c-word.” Back in early October, Vicki wrote on her Facebook page, “Long day for Briana. She just got out of recovering and is in her room. Surgery was much more serious and invasive than we thought it would be. Removal of her entire thyroid, numerous nodules and lymph nodes. One more hurdle is getting results back from pathology. Thank you for all your prayers everyone.”

But breathe easy. The veteran ‘Wife updated concerned fans a few days later, “God answered our prayers today! Briana's thyroid was benign, no cancer! She was discharged this morning and is home resting.” And this past week, she tweeted that her daughter was “doing much better.”

“One thing that I have been blessed with is a daughter who is wise beyond her years,” Vicki says in her blog about newlywed nurse Briana. “She has been through a lot herself in the past few years, and always has a smile on her face and always tells me like it is. There is no grey area with her. She inspires me to look at the big picture of life, which is family and close friends, and to not let the things that don't really matter in the big picture weigh heavy on me.”
