Just when it seems like everyone was getting along on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Dorit Kemsley drops a c-bomb at a dinner party. And while she explained to fellow Housewife Lisa Vanderpump that calling Camille Grammer a "See you next Tuesday" was done in jest and good humor, it seems to be the first in a string of missteps for Mrs. Kemsley this season of RHOBH. So when Lisa Vanderpump stopped by The Daily Dish podcast for a cuppa tea, hosts Megan Segura and Rachael Roberts asked about her thoughts on Dorit's behavior on the show and how she deals with those awkward moments it can create.
"I mean, I kind of try to defuse it by laughing," Lisa told Megan and Rachael about that awkward dinner party moment between Dorit and Camille. "Because there's no really appropriate way you can call Camille Gramer a 'See you next Tuesday' and get away with it."
Lisa admitted she knew something would go wrong and even tried a few times to stop Dorit from putting her foot in her mouth at Kyle's dinner party. "I was kind of, like, a little wary," Lisa recalled, noting that she warned Dorit to think carefully before she said anything, a moment also captured at the same dinner party on the show. "I think I tried to put a napkin over her mouth, like this. So how far can you go? I've given you the signals that you need to pay attention, but ok, you're on your own."
Lisa had her own struggles with Dorit when viewers saw Dorit be photographed for Beverly Hills Lifestyle Magazine, of which Lisa was recently named Editor-in-Chief. Dorit was very particular about the hair and makeup provided for the shoot, when, as Lisa explained on the podcast, "We were just highlighting the jewelry." Lisa added to her explanation, "I didn't think it was a big deal about hair and makeup and all that, and she made it a bigger deal than it was, and she knows that I feel that way."
Does Lisa think Dorit has a chance for redemption on some of these less favorable moments? Lisa said, "I think you've got to really take responsibility for what you say in a reality show."
