What Padma Lakshmi Eats for Breakfast

She's obsessed with eggs.

By Nicki Gostin

Many men -- and women -- have surely fantacized about sharing breakfast with Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi. (We'll leave the rest to their imaginations.) And while, unfortunately, that won't happen for most of them -- sorry for killing that dream! -- we have a few details to make that fantasy a little more, well, accurate.

How to Watch

Watch Top Chef on Bravo and next day on Peacock.

"I do love eggs," she rhapsodizes to Bon Appetit a la Bubba Gump. "There's a million ways that I'll eat them. Sometimes I like soft-boiled, sometimes hard-boiled and sliced, and other times poached. It can be scrambled, but I don't really do scrambled unless I do it myself. I don't like my eggs overcooked--it just takes the pleasure out of them for me. I'm actually obsessed with eggs. I love egg salad, I'll often have an egg salad sandwich for lunch, with big romaine leaves."

She also likes to drizzle a variety of exotic sauces like coriander chutney over her eggs -- no ketchup here!

Along with her eggy the Top Chef star usually has a slice of sourdough toast, a grapefruit and tea for breakfast. The tea is a brand that she produced for her own line, naturally -- a classic Earl Grey mixed with French vanilla and French lavender.

The judges have revealed that they Padma is not above imbibing at lunchtime, but only if there is no Top Chef taping! She prefers a glass of Pinot Noir or Sauvignon Blanc which she says goes really well with -- you guessed it -- egg salad! We told you she loved eggs! Hmm, we think we may know what Padma's next cookbook will be about!
