Sure, you'll find some of the most important and famous quotes of our time within the likes of the United States Constitution or in a classic film like Casablanca. But you know from where else we're always quoting? Every Real Housewives opening credits sequence in which the ladies deliver the sassiest, sharpest, and smartest taglines, that's where!
So from where do these instantly quotable lines come in the first place? Well, as Lisa Shannon, executive producer of The Real Housewives of New York City explained during an event at the Tribeca TV Festival on September 23, it's a collaborative process between the RHONY ladies and the producers. "It is one of my favorite parts. We usually like spitball them all. Barrie Bernstein, who's another EP on the show, will come to my office, and I'll get out a bottle of wine. We, like, become them. Like, 'OK, what is Tinsley [Mortimer] doing this season?'" she explained. "We confer with [the New York Housewives]. [They're] always coming up with stuff."
Though all of the taglines are amazing, each in their own special way, Sonja Morgan, Dorinda Medley, and Tinsley each have their favorite: Sonja's is “I have a taste for luxury, and luxury has a taste for me" from Seasons 3 and 4, Dorinda likes "I give Uptown a whole new attitude" from Season 7 the best, and Tinsley is a fan of "A good set of lashes can fix anything ... even a mugshot" from Season 9.
Celebrities have also gotten into the tagline game, sharing their very own catchphrases on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen over the years. Check out some of the best, below.
