Who Is Lisa Vanderpump? What to Know About Her Business Empire and Family

Lisa’s Beverly Hills mansion is famously monikered Villa Rosa. She’s known for her immaculate and feminine decor, which includes lots of lush florals and pink hues. 

Prior to moving to the United States, Lisa and her family lived in England. In 2020, Pandora shared a peek at the home in England where she and her parents lived in shortly after she was born.

Together with her husband, Lisa has owned over 30 restaurants and bars for over 30 years in the United States and England.

Currently, her most prominent restaurants include SUR Restaurant and Lounge in West Hollywood (the locale that served as the original backdrop for Vanderpump Rules), TomTom Restaurant and Bar in West Hollywood (which is a joint venture with Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval), Vanderpump Cocktail Garden in Las Vegas, and Vanderpump à Paris in Las Vegas. 

Beverly Hills’ Villa Blanca, which was often seen on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Vanderpump Rules, closed its doors in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Pump Restaurant and Lounge, which was located in West Hollywood, shut down in 2023.

In 2023, Lisa announced that she was planning to open Wolf by Vanderpump in Lake Tahoe. Ahead of BravoCon 2023, Lisa announced that she will be opening her third Las Vegas establishment, Pinky’s by Vanderpump, a restaurant and bar opening in the iconic Flamingo Hotel located on the Las Vegas strip in the summer of 2024.

Ken Todd is a British restauranteur and entrepreneur.

Before he met Lisa, Ken was married to Pamela Todd when he was 19. They divorced after two years but first welcomed a son, Warren, together in 1966. 

Ken and Lisa met in 1982 when they were first introduced by Lisa’s brother. 

"It was the strangest thing," Lisa said during a 2018 appearance on the podcast Straight up with Stassi of their first meeting. “He was wrong for me in every sense of the word. He was 16 years older than me. He was a playboy, running around town with trousers 'round his ankles. And I was dating someone else. I just looked at him and there was an instant connection." After just six weeks of knowing each other, Lisa and Ken got engaged, and then were married within three months. 

In addition to Ken’s son from a previous marriage, Ken and Lisa have two children together: daughter, Pandora Vanderpump Sabo; and son, Max Vanderpump-Todd.

Pandora, who is married to Jason Sabo (the two share son Theodore “Teddy” Sabo), has worked alongside her parents over the years at their restaurants, Vanderpump Dogs, and more. On Vanderpump Rules, we saw Max work as a busser at SUR and later as the manager of TomTom. 

Decades before she started documenting her personal and professional lives on Bravo, she worked as an actor.

She appeared on several other projects including John Halifax, Gentleman, Katy, and Killer's Moon in the 1970s. In the 1980s, she had a stint as a music video vixen in ABC's "Poison Arrow" music video. Her IMDB credits continue to roll on right through the '90s, during which she made appearances on shows like Baywatch Nights and Silk Stalkings.

Lisa was a member of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast when the show premiered in October 2010. She exited the show following its ninth season in 2019 — and she did not attend the reunion that year.

Lisa opened up more about her decision to leave RHOBH during an interview with Us Weekly in June 2019.

“I made the decision to leave. It was a very difficult year for me, personally and professionally," she explained. "I had wonderful things happen this year, opening up and TomTom and the cocktail garden in Vegas. The Housewives, it’s just, it’s emotionally too difficult to deal with.”

Lisa has been with Vanderpump Rules since its inception. She serves as a cast member and executive producer on the series, which follows the current and former staffers at her restaurants and their friends. VPR was launched as a spin-off of RHOBH in 2013. Season 11 is set to premiere in January 2024. 

On Vanderpump Rules, Lisa is more than a boss to SUR and TomTom crew. She acts as a voice of reason during the cast’s squabbles, a business mentor as they branch off and launch their own ventures, and as a friend, often hosting them for tea parties and fancy dinners. 

Lisa competed in the 16th season of Dancing with the Stars in 2013, and she was partnered with pro Gleb Savchenko. They were the second couple eliminated.

Lisa appeared on E!’s Overserved with Lisa Vanderpump in 2021, which followed her hosting her celebrity friends at Villa Rosa. The same year, she was featured as a judge in ABC’s Pooch Perfect. She starred in Peacock’s Vanderpump Dogs, which was a RHOBH spin-off that documented the work of her West Hollywood pet adoption shop. 

In 2016, Lisa and Ken launched The Vanderpump Dogs Foundation, a non-profit organization that aims to improve the well-being of dogs around the world. She also has operated a blog, Very Vanderpump, since 2012. She served as editor-in-chief of Beverly Hills Lifestyle Magazine from 2017 to 2018. 

In addition to her restaurants, Lisa has launched liquor lines including Vanderpump Rose, LVP Sangria, and Vanderpump Vodka.
