Why Garcelle Beauvais Wasn’t with the RHOBH Cast at the People’s Choice Awards
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member was nominated for the Reality Star of 2022.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast hit the red carpet at the 2022 People’s Choice Awards on Tuesday, December 6, but Garcelle Beauvais — who scored an individual nod in addition to the show’s nomination — was noticeably absent.
It turns out she had a good excuse, though. As Garcelle explained in an Instagram video, “I am beyond excited that I was nominated for favorite reality star of 2022 along with my friends and castmates of Beverly Hills, [but] I can’t go. I’m working.”
She didn’t specify where she would be working, but as fans may recall, Garcelle announced in October that she landed a role in Survival of the Thickest, a new Netflix comedy series that also features FBI’s Anissa Felix, Pose’s Peppermint, P-Valley’s Taylor Selé, and I May Destroy You’s Marouane Zotti.
As the Instagram video continued, Garcelle wished her RHOBH castmates good luck, adding, “Again, it’s an honor to be nominated. Go Beverly Hills! I hope we win.”
The series was nominated for the Reality Show of 2022 alongside Below Deck Sailing Yacht, The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and several other shows. However, The Kardashians took home the award. Similarly, Khloe Kardashian won the Reality Star of 2022, beating out Garcelle, Kyle Richards, and RHOA’s Kandi Burruss and Kenya Moore, among others.
Win or lose, the Beverly Hills ladies — including Kyle, Dorit Kemsley, Sutton Stracke, Crystal Kung Minkoff, Lisa Rinna, Erika Jayne, and Kathy Hilton — still stunned on the red carpet. See their looks here, here, here, here, and here.
