For the last year, Whitney Sudler-Smith has been quietly dating a certain German celebrity, but in recent weeks, the international press has gotten wind of his romance—and he's been making a splash on the tabloid scene. This week, he was featured on the cover of the daily paper Express, with a headline that loosely translates to "Larissa & Her Great Love: Sweet Smooching in Kölner City."

We checked in with Whitney to find out what's really going on. "I'm in Germany now, and the press has been insane," he tells the Dish. "We're in every tabloid and newspaper. She seems to be the biggest star in Germany and everybody wants to know her business. But she's been a very good sport about the whole thing. She's very down to earth."

So who is this Deutschland debutante? Larissa Marolt stars on Germany's version of Dancing With the Stars, called Let's Dance, and the show reaches seven million viewers a night.

While life in Charleston is lax and easy-going, Whitney says the constant media attention about his love life has been a bit overwhelming. "It's been crazy, the reaction in Germany," he said. "They follow us everywhere and stalk our residence."

Whitney and Larissa have been together for a year now, and aside from becoming a German tabloid sensation, he's been enjoying his time overseas to support his lady. He even took to Twitter to share a group photo following one of her performances. Aww!
