Why Jessel Taank Told Producer “Enough Filming!” in Puerto Rico: "Worst Thing That Can Happen"
Jessel "panicked" soon after the Housewives arrived at their luxurious villa, but why?
Fashion publicist Jessel Taank packed her worries while vacationing with the others on The Real Housewives of New York City. But thankfully, everyone can laugh about it now.
In Season 15, Episode 11, the group headed for the (not-so) sunny shores of Puerto Rico, where Jessel was “literally” about to lose her sh-t, or so she told Erin Lichy and Ubah Hassan. She increasingly “panicked” when she was unable to find her cream-colored luggage, which not only carried her best holiday ensembles, but her passport and other important items as well.
“This is the worst thing that can happen to me,” Jessel said in her confessional.
Jessel Taank has issues in Puerto Rico
Jessel unapologetically interrupted some serious back-and-forth between Brynn Whitfield and Rebecca Minkoff as the others settled into their accommodations. Jenna Lyons and Racquel Chevremont were also there when a frazzled Jessel continued to search the villa high and low for her suitcase.
When asked by Brynn about the Wi-Fi password, Jessel couldn’t be bothered.
“I have something a little bit more urgent to deal with, Brynn,” Jessel said in a confessional. “I know you want to check how many likes your f-cking post got on Instagram; I don’t care. My bag is missing.”
Jessel recalled taking her suitcase from the airport’s conveyor belt, but it was nowhere to be found. She searched the sprinter van and closets to no avail and then wound up directing her frustration toward the camera crew.
“OK, guys, enough filming, but where is my f-cking suitcase?” she frantically asked. “This is not funny.”
In a head-scratching approach, Jessel went to a river in the backyard and screamed, “My bag! I need my f-cking bag!” much to Racquel’s amusement.
How did Jessel lose her luggage?
One hour before Jessel’s exhausting search, Brynn — with the help of Sai De Silva — took Jessel’s suitcase from luggage handlers, later letting Jenna in on her fun little secret. She said she planned on letting Jessel “freak out” for only about 45 minutes.
Brynn’s partner-in-crime also found fun in the joke.
“Miss Fashionista who can’t survive without her things and her makeup, I mean, she will die if her luggage doesn’t show up,” Sai said.
To producers, Sai directed Erin and Rebecca to “take notes,” citing the duo’s recent pregnancy prank.
In Jessel's continued efforts to find the bag, not only did she interrupt Brynn and Rebecca’s drama — in which Brynn took great offense to Rebecca pointing out that Brynn had no children — she also interrupted Erin and Ubah’s one-on-one convo about Ubah’s gaslighting claims.
Still, neither one could help Jessel locate her missing bag.
“I’m hyper-focused on figuring out where my suitcase is, and the more people are ignoring the situation, the more frustrated and irritated I’m getting,” she said. “I have no shoes, you guys. How are you gonna wear a gown and sneakers?”
Brynn finally 'fessed up to hiding the luggage, and it was a case of no harm, no foul for Jessel. Both hugged it out and had a good laugh.
“I’m so relieved that I have my bag,” Jessel told producers.
Still, she found it “disgusting” that Brynn hid the suitcase on the floor under her bathroom sink.
“Now I have to sanitize my suitcase as an extra step to unpacking,” Jessel said.
