Louie Ruelas Shares the Important Reason Why He Called Joe Giudice on His Wedding Day
Teresa Giudice’s new husband had some important things to say to her ex-husband.
Teresa Giudice married Luis “Louie” Ruelas at a flower-drenched ceremony in New Jersey. (Catch a glimpse of the splashy affair — and Teresa’s three-pound hairstyle — in the clip above.) On the day of The Real Housewives of New Jersey wedding, Louie placed a call to someone rather unexpected: Teresa’s ex-husband, Joe Giudice. So, what was said during that conversation? Louie recently spilled the tea.
When chatting with Us Weekly, Teresa’s new husband said, “I called [Joe], basically just let him know that everything’s gonna be OK — that we’re a team. It felt right to call him and talk to him because he’s a good father. He definitely makes lemonade outta lemons, and it’s something that people don’t see out there. And I just wanted to acknowledge that for him.”
Joe has previously opened up about forming a relationship with Louie. When Louie and Teresa started to become serious, Louie reached out to Teresa’s ex. “I was OK with it, to be honest with you,” Joe said on Teresa’s Namaste B$tches podcast. “I mean, look, she’s got to be happy, you know what I mean?”
Louie and Teresa Plan to Visit Joe in the Bahamas
Meanwhile, Teresa and Louie told Us Weekly that they even plan to visit Joe in the Bahamas soon — and that they already had dinner with him and Teresa’s daughter Audriana when they were last on the islands. In case you’re wondering, no tables were flipped.
“I’m so happy we did [it],” Teresa said about the modern-family-style gathering. “It made my daughter so happy. And I was like, ‘Thank you so much for doing that.’ It wasn’t my idea, it was his. So [Louie] gets to take the credit for it. But then after I did it, I’m like, ‘Thank you,’ because they really made the girls so happy.”
Louie Shares His Commitment as a Stepdad
The couple revealed that they have dinner as a family every night. “It’s actually really beautiful,” Louie said. “We have time to focus on the children and what’s important, where they’re going, what their next steps are.”
The New Jersey entrepreneur has previously opened up about his commitment to caring for Teresa’s daughters. In the March 28 episode of RHONJ, Louie made an unexpected confession at Rachel Fuda’s mermaid-themed brunch.
“I’m a good man,” Louie told Teresa’s brother, Joe Gorga. “I live with your four nieces; I wear your father’s pajamas at night to make them feel safe and loving. Do you know that?”
Bravo fans will get a closer look at Teresa and Louie’s wedding on May 23, when Bravo airs the RHONJ special Teresa Gets Married.
