Why the RHONJ Ladies Aren’t Going on a Trip During Season 14: “Maybe It’s an Omen”
Unfortunately, it turns out that the RHONJ ladies' Berkshire trip has gone up in flames — literally.
In a preview for Season 14, Episode 12 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, which is set to air July 28, Dolores Catania sits down with her boyfriend Paul "Paulie" Connell to share some terrifying news about her upcoming girls' trip to the Berkshires.
"Umm, well, the house that we were going to go to, for the girls trip I planned just burned down last night," she tells her beau, who has a proper reaction: "Are you kidding me?!"
According to Dolores, the word on the street is that the fire's cause was electric. "Could you imagine if we were in it? That house was perfect. It took me forever to find it. It had a separate house off the ground, so we had enough for everyone and for two people to be separate, which is just what I needed. It was unbelievable how perfect it was," she explains. "How am I going to find something like that again? I'm not."
As for the fate of the trip, Dolores doesn't know what to do.

"I mean, if the house burned down, that's kind of a sign, no?" says Paulie. "Maybe it's an omen," agrees Dolores.
...Especially after what happened the day before, when Jennifer Fessler went to see Margaret Josephs for lunch to let her know that Teresa Giudice plans to sit the women down and "let [them] know what she did to her."
"Do I feel like going to this whole thing? No," explains Dolores. "But I hear all my friends out."
In another preview for Episode 12, Dolores and Jen chat about the trip. "So, did you find the house?" Jen asks. "I found the perfect house in the Berkshires," answers Dolores. "Seven bedrooms with a guest house with two bedrooms."
"Teresa has not confirmed [her attendance], but I do feel like she's going to show up. She wouldn't give anyone the satisfaction of saying she didn't show her face," explains Dolores in a confessional. "So let's say, maybe, she's coming. In my heart I know she will."
In the same conversation, Dolores notes that she wants the trip to be about the women learning to respect the friendships they once held dear.
"You can't love each other for that many years and then just completely turn it off, then try to disrespect what you had," says Jen. "It's just sad."
Still, the goal isn't necessarily to have everyone make up.
"I don't know if everyone is meant to be friends," Dolores notes. "But say what has to be said in a civil way, get whatever it is off your chest that eats you alive every day. I want it to be peaceful."
