Lindsay Hubbard Shares Why Her Romance with Carl Radke Feels Like a “Fairy Tale”
In a Winter House preview, Lindsay gets emotional as she discusses falling in love with her best friend, Carl.
Though fans have kept up with Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke’s relationship (and engagement!) on social media, the last time the two were actually on TV, they were discussing the prospect of giving their relationship another go. The conversation took place at Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke’s wedding on the Summer House Season 6 finale.
Fast-forward several months (after they became an official item, but before their engagement) and the twosome paid a visit to Stowe, Vermont, to catch up with the Winter House crew.
In a preview of the November 17 episode, the cast takes a trip to an ice rink for a skating competition. On the ice, Carl speaks with pal and colleague Kyle about why he is “so happy” in his relationship. Meanwhile, Lindsay chats one-on-one with Amanda about the same thing.
“You could feel that there was something going on,” Carl says in the video above about how his feelings changed for Lindsay at Kyle and Amanda’s wedding. “My heart [beat] different. I’ve never been happier in my life, man. I really mean that.”
Lindsay noted that things felt different because the two had been best friends before they decided to give their romance a (second) chance.
“We’re so comfortable with each other, just based on the friendship,” Lindsay tells Kyle’s better half.
In an interview, Lindsay tears up as she shares why being with Carl is so different from her past relationships.
“There is no better feeling in the entire world than falling in love with your best friend,” Lindsay says. “I think that this is the closest thing that you can get to a fairy tale. It brings me to tears because I just wish everyone felt this kind of love in their life. That’s how I feel about him.”
In the clip, there’s also some foreshadowing for their August engagement, as Lindsay says that Carl is “ready for a commitment now.”
After the partners gush about each other, Amanda asks Lindsay a burning question: Is it “weird” for her to see anyone in the house? As viewers will remember, Lindsay previously dated Jason Cameron and she had an on-and-off fling with Austen Kroll — and both men are staying at the ski house.
