Yolanda: "I Had Much More Glamorous Plans for Myself"
The #RHOBH star returns to modeling and reveals how Lyme disease has changed her life.
Yolanda Foster continues to battle Lyme disease and is doing everything in her power to help find a cure. The Dutch beauty recently got back in front of the camera for a spread in W magazine's August issue, and opened up about her health struggles. ”I had much more glamorous plans for myself, obviously,” she says of her experience with the disease, which she was diagnosed with in 2012 shortly after joining the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. But now she’s working hard to use her platform for the greater good, especially when it comes to social media. “When I was modeling 30 years ago, we didn’t have that,” she says. “You went around with your portfolio, begging for jobs. Now, these kids establish themselves on social media and they just run with it.”
Her supermodel daughters, Gigi and Bella Hadid, have clearly established a strong presence — Gigi has over 4.5 million followers and Bella just hit one million. But their mom is catching up, recently breaking one million followers herself. Aside from using the site to thank all of the fans who continue to support her, the RHOBH star also shares updates on her health. Most recently, she posted a photo of herself receiving treatment in a hyberbaric chamber.
