Anthony Bourdain died on June 8 of apparent suicide in France, where he was filming for his CNN show Parts Unknown with his friend Eric Ripert. And it is in that country where he has been cremated, a source says.

The source, cited in People, also reported to that outlet that Bourdain's ashes would be flown back to the United States on Friday, a week after his death. It was Ripert who discovered Bourdain unresponsive in his hotel.

As Bourdain's divorce from ex-wife Ottavia Busia had not been finalized, she remains his official next of kin.
