Amy Schumer Still Pregnant, Having a Baby Boy

UPDATE (5:15 P.M. PST, MONDAY, MAY 6, 2019): Amy Schumer is a mom! Schumer announced she had her first baby with husband Chris Fischer. She shared the news on Instagram, along with the cheeky message: "Our royal baby was born."

Original story continues below:

There are some important facts Amy Schumer thinks you should know: First of all, yes, she's still pregnant. Second of all, she's having a... baby boy with husband Chris Fischer!

But rather than generate a ton of buzz and media attention devoted to the gender reveal of one couple's first child, Schumer — politically and socially involved as she is — used the opportunity to summon attention to another cause she finds important. And it has to do with food — and nothing at all to do with babies.

She tucked her big baby announcement casually at the end of a post encouraging a boycott of a fast-food chain, knowing that combining the two messages would encourage the swift proliferation of both.

She shared an Instagram photo from the pediatrician's office with Fischer, captioning it: “Hey! We love @chancetherapper and hate to be the ones to tell him that Wendys is the only fast food chain refusing to protect farmworker women from sexual assault and rape in the fields. This is true. Please read that sentence again. Message for the people in charge: Instead of spicy nuggets, we want food that is harvested with dignity NOT violence. Please join the @fairfoodprogram and #BoycottWendys link in my bio of how you can help."

Oh and — just casually — she added at the end: "Also we are having a boy."
