Mario Batali's Co-Hosts From The Chew Say They're Committed to a "Safe Work Environment"
Moving forward, Carla Hall, Clinton Kelly, and Michael Symon just want to entertain you.
Mario Batali has taken a leave of absence from his restaurants and businesses following multiple allegations of sexual harassment. On Wednesday, his co-hosts on The Chew addressed the news with a joint statement:
"Yesterday, allegations of past improper behavior surfaced about our own Mario Batali, and ABC asked him to step away from the show while those allegations are reviewed," said Clinton Kelly.
"We want you to know we take these matters very seriously and are committed to a safe work environment," continued Michael Symon.
"Our commitment to our viewers remains the same — to deliver the entertaining show that you’ve come to expect,” concluded Carla Hall. The statement was posted on Twitter:
As of press time, all of Batali's products had also been removed from Eataly stores pending review of the allegations; he is an investor in the chain's American locations.
