Melissa McCarthy to the rescue! At the Golden Globe Awards, the actress smuggled in 40 sandwiches for her fellow celebrities to nosh on, and the snacks appeared to be quite a hit.
Now, you might be wondering why your favorite stars would need smuggled-in snacks at all, since the ceremony takes place over a seated dinner in the ballroom of the Beverly Hilton. But, as it turns out, the dinner has been whisked away by the time many guests arrive at their seats. You see, producers make sure most of the plates have been cleared by the time the telecast begins, so that those giving speeches don't have to bellow over the sound of clinking cutlery. Enter McCarthy.
As the actress' husband Ben Falcone documented on Instagram, McCarthy smuggled in dozens of sandwiches on baguettes. (Variety has it that the sandwiches in question were ham and cheese, and came from nearby restaurant Joan's on Third.) In his caption, Falcone wrote: "These are the sandwiches that Mooch smuggled into the Golden Globes. We brought 40, left with 2. We left with some happy customers."
Aww, that's the cutest thing we've seen since Chrissy Teigen played at sneaking burgers and fries into an awards ceremony for a McDonald's commercial! But this was real!
And of course, for anyone who needed something to wash down that ham and cheese... the smoldering Fiji water girl was at the ready.
