Anybody who watches The Real Housewives of Atlanta is well aware the Kenya Moore is a diehard dog lover. Her pups, King and Twirl, are frequent stars of her Instagram, and she deeply believes that they watch over her and keep her safe. “Don’t know what I would do without them in my life,” she has said on social media.
So we’re sure it was extremely frightening for Kenya when she had to take King to the vet this weekend. “#king spent all day at the vet,” she wrote on her Instagram. Thankfully, he’s fine and already home. “He’s okay,” she added, “but lifting both hind legs up in the air to walk.”
While we’re sure it was tough to see him sick, the video of the reunion with his pupper sibling Twirl brought a lot of cuteness to an otherwise scary situation. “He found time to kiss on Twirl so I guess he's feeling a little better.”
When a commenter asked Kenya what was wrong, she replied, “Possibly luxating patella (knee out of joint.” The condition is actually very common among toy breeds such as Yorkies, and according to PetMD, “it can only be returned to its normal position once the quadriceps muscles in the hind legs of the animal relax and lengthen. Most dogs with the condition will hold up their hind legs for a few minutes.” Sounds like the correct diagnosis!
We’re wishing King a very speedy recovery, and we’re wishing Twirl all the kisses she can handle.
