Erika Girardi Reveals The Iconic Movie Characters Who Most Inspire Her Style
The singer compared her reunion look to the "Sapphic spawn" of two fictional characters.
We already know one thing about Erika Girardi's Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion look: actress Sarah Paulson absolutely loved it. After a hawk-eyed fan noticed that Erika's dress was the same Marc Jacobs number that Sarah wore to the Golden Globes, Erika and Sarah started a sequin-fueled love fest on Twitter. (Honestly? This mutual girl crush has us majorly geeking out.)
Now, we know even more about the golden dress seen 'round Hollywood. Yesterday, Erika took to Instagram to reveal that the look was inspired by a mashup of pop-culture references. Capturing a close-up reunion shot of her doll-pretty face, the singer wrote: "Spawn of a Sapphic union between Sharon Tate and Ginger McKenna."
A little history: Sharon Tate, the ultimate 1960s beauty, starred in the camp classic Valley of the Dolls. Her character was fond of cut-crease eyeshadow, bouffant hairdos, and pills (so that explains Erika's emoji explosion!) Ginger McKenna, on the other hand, was the flashy magpie played by Sharon Stone in Casino.
This isn't the first time Erika has given a sparkling wink to Stone's iconic character, mind you. The former DWTS contestant told Vogue that a sequined look she wore last year was also "very Ginger in Casino."So Sharon Stone, if you're listening: you may want to get in on this Sarah-Erika love train.
