Sending Your Child to College for Sophomore Year Doesn't Get Easier, As Kyle Richards Explains
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills mom recently dropped Sophia Umansky off for her second year at George Washington University in D.C.
While sending your first child off to college — or even kindergarten — for the first time is a challenge, it's actually still hard when it comes to your second or third kid.
Lisa Rinna's younger daughter, Amelia Gray Hamlin, begins her first year of college this fall, as does Teresa Giudice's eldest, Gia Giudice, and Sonja Morgan's only daughter, Quincy Morgan.
Meanwhile, Braunwyn Windham-Burke's eldest daughter, Bella, is back to college again, just like Kyle Richards' third daughter, Sophia Umansky.
And spoiler: It's not easy for any of them.
In fact, Kyle recently shared an unapproved pic of her and Sophia from their recent trip to D.C. on Instagram.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills mom began the caption with a note that she may get in trouble for posting the pic, before including a touchingly candid take on her kids growing up: "I thought it was supposed to get easier. My 3rd child that I have taken to college. She’s a sophomore .. yet here I am still feeling like I left a piece of me behind. Just like I felt when I took @farrahbritt & @alexiaumansky."
"I just love being with my kids and having to face the fact that it won’t be as much as I want anymore is hard," Kyle added. "Life is changing and I don’t do well with change."
For parents who are also struggling with an empty nest, experts recommend finding a new hobby as part of the adjustment.
Hey, maybe for Kyle that could be food photography (wink wink).
