All Dressed Up
Adrienne admits she was surprised by what Lisa's party became and shares her thoughts on family relations.
First of all, a belated happy New Year!
Thanks to a crazy schedule it's been awhile since I’ve had a blog up. I've had the wonderful experience of meeting so many of you in person as I've been launching my shoe collection around the country, and I want to say thank you for making it such an amazing, positive experience. A lot of you have asked, and yes -- I'm working on additional collections as we speak. It's been an incredibly busy but exciting start to 2012.
That being said, I'm going to delve right in. Over the last few episodes you have seen that we were extremely emotional, and there was a lot going on in our group. Despite it all, I have to say it was wonderful to go to Hawaii with Paul, even though there were some bumps in the road.
I'm sure all of you parents understand that while we say we need to "get away," once you actually get on a plane without your kids, you miss them instantly. I can't remember the last time I went away for pleasure without my boys! Although the trip was enjoyable for Paul and I, the dinner brought back memories of the mainland and all its drama!
Having brothers, it's very interesting for me to see the dynamic between Kyle and Kim. With my brothers and I there is more light-hearted teasing, and we're competitive when it comes to business or sports. The one thing that is absolutely the same though is the love. I've known Kyle and Kim for quite some time, and I’ve seen them in their moments of joy as well as those moments we saw in Hawaii. I understood Kyle's frustration with Kim missing so many events -- when you love someone you want to share the great moments. There is a sense of regret in not sharing those moments and I know Kyle didn't want her sister to miss out on the fun.
Onto the opening of Lisa's restaurant, I remember the evening, unfortunately, being very stressful due to all of the heart-to-hearts that were taking place. I don't think you ever get dressed up and go to an event expecting it to turn into a therapy session in a back room!
I thought Taylor needed to be accountable for the position she put her friends in. You want to support your girlfriends, but it's difficult when you're being threatened with litigation as a result. However she did admit that and I admire her being candid and forthright about her role. It was an emotional rollercoaster for all involved. Ultimately she has my support as she gets back on her feet, and I wish her much happiness in her life moving forward.
Xoxo,
Adrienne
P.S. We are blessed to have a new addition to our family! She's a tiny Scottish Fold kitten, and Jackpot seems very proud of himself now that he's not the smallest thing in the house. Both Visco and Jackpot are so happy to have her to play with! She's darling, and we're still working on a name. Any ideas?
P.P.S. I've been thinking about getting another kitten as a playmate for my first, since Jackpot and Visco are such buddies. My house is starting to look like Noah's Ark. Even my twin boys came as a pair!
