Crystal Kung Minkoff Is “Giddy AF” in a Stunning Dress for a Visit to the White House
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member was ecstatic (and incredibly chic!) as she made her way into the White House for a special reason.
Crystal Kung Minkoff paid her “first-ever” visit to the White House on May 9. And to mark the occasion, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills mama worked with a stylist to pull together a look that had her feeling “giddy AF.”
Crystal hasn’t always been adventurous with her fashion choices. In the clip above, she says, “I am not a risk-taker… I always like to look exactly the same all the time.” But when Dorit Kemsley says that she’s witnessed a style “evolution” in Crystal, the 40-year-old couldn’t help but agree.
“I’m getting more comfortable. But [fashion has] never been my thing. I’m coming into my own in this part of my life. That never was something that I felt connected to, so I’m having more fun. But being in the room with [the RHOBH cast members] every day inspires you… The show gave me the opportunity to try things out. If I chose, I would be wearing ChapStick every day.”
Well, May 9 was not a “ChapStick” kind of day! In her Instagram post, Crystal showed herself twirling around the Washington, D.C., streets in a long-sleeved, high-neck dress with a dark floral print. The sheer, floaty dress had ruffles along its hem and sleeves, and it looked enchanting as Crystal performed what she called her “White House dance.”
She paired the look with white booties and carried one of her famous designer handbags. The lucky bag to accompany Crystal to D.C. was a brown Gucci Diana Mini Tote. (A used one in the exact colors as Crystal’s goes for about $2,500.)
In her caption, the Real Coco co-founder l wrote: “This reel is titled, ‘I’M ABOUT TO WALK INTO THE WHITE HOUSE AND [I’M] GIDDY AF! Thanks [Lesley Grosvenor] for styling my first ever visit.” She also teased: “And full disclosure: I will be posting a LOT of White House content today.”
Later, she revealed the reason for her visit in a post that showed her posing in the plush confines of the White House. “When President Biden invites you to celebrate [AAPI] Heritage Month at the White House, you say YES!!!” she wrote. “And the best part was that I got to do it with my family and closest friends. What a spectacular night that I will never ever forget. They even served boba.”
The day before her visit to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Crystal explored D.C. in a more dressed-down look. She shared a video of herself running around town in fitted jeans, a long-sleeved floral top, and bright-white sneakers. “Today’s forecast: 100 percent chance of museum tours, sightseeing, and cherry blossoms,” she wrote.
In another post, she teased a possible career pivot. Flashing a peace sign as she stood in front of the National Mall, the Real Housewife wrote, “Two minutes in Washington, DC and I’m already convinced I should run for President.”
