Whether it's a dinner party or a backyard birthday celebration, Kathy Hilton proves time and time again that she is the most incredible host. So when the holiday season rolls around each year, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills pal goes above and beyond to transform her home for guests, and now she's sharing all her top entertaining tips.

How to Watch

To fill her house with a seasonal scent before guests arrive, Kathy told USA Today and Modern Luxury's Angeleno Magazine that she lights Voluspa's Crushed Candy Cane Candle. As she told USA Today, it also makes "a great gift." On RHOBH's July 21 episode, Kathy brought the candle as a present for Kyle Richards, and it was very well received. "Oh what a pretty candle!" Lisa Rinna said before Dorit Kemsley added, "That's beautiful."

Kathy also suggests curating a great collection of interchangeable glassware that can be used while hosting. "Sometimes I do three different glasses, so in other words, I don't use a set," she told USA Today. "[Instead] I'll use one from each set." While Kathy is a fan of Baccarat, she often shops for more affordable pieces as well. "New friends are always surprised to come over for the first time and find that I’m serving In-N-Out burgers from my antique silver chafing dish (very pleasantly surprised, I might add)," Kathy said in an interview with Yelp. "Local thrift stores are a great place to find serving pieces." As for dinnerware, USA Today notes Kathy is a fan of Godinger.

While Housewives often have mixed feelings on place cards, Kathy likes to keep things organized at her dinner parties. "I always do a seating chart," she told USA Today.

As we saw in 2019, Kathy typically decks out her home with the most gorgeous decor for her Christmas parties. "I don't go this crazy [with decorations] for the other holidays, but [for] Christmas I do," she told USA Today. It just [adds] warmth in the home."

Because decor "sets the tone of the event," Kathy explained to Yelp, "the details do matter." To elevate any gathering, she suggests "having a playful balloon display from a business like OC Balloon Party."

For the holidays, she explained, "Color-coordinated decorations always create a jaw-dropping moment for guests, who appreciate the thought that goes into making a gathering particularly memorable and festive."
