During her birthday celebration last year, Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave declared that she would "rather have a marg than eat cake." For her 39th birthday on July 1, however, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member happily enjoyed some different sweet treats.

How to Watch

In an Instagram video taken by Teddi's husband Edwin Arroyave, Teddi smiled with a chocolate chip cookie in front of her while a birthday candle burned on a plate next to it. The family, who celebrated the special occasion at Craig's restaurant in Los Angeles, also ate what appeared to be the eatery's chocolate pizza, which features white and dark chocolate, vanilla cream, and cookie crumble.

Thanks to Teddi's little ones, the moment was made even sweeter as they sang happy birthday to her and inquired about her birthday wishes. Following the meal, Cruz adorably offered to pick up the tab and signed a copy of the receipt.

As we know, Cruz is big fan of the chocolate pizza. For his 5th birthday last year, Teddi shared that he requested the dessert as his celebratory treat. "He didn’t want birthday cake," Teddi told BravoTV.com via email at the time. "He wanted chocolate pizza from his favorite restaurant Craig’s."

While cake isn't Teddi or Cruz's dessert of choice, it seems the confection is a go-to for the rest of her family members' various celebrations. For Edwin's birthday in April, the family enjoyed a fluffy, golden cake dusted in sugar. Meanwhile, at Slate's 7th birthday party in October 2019, guests were treated to a white cake topped with rainbow-hued sprinkles, a sparkly 7, and hot-pink icing.
