In honor of Ex-Files Week, The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Siggy Flicker is taking over Bravotv.com as Guest Editor. For one whole week the relationship expert is sharing advice for those just getting out of a relationship and those trying to stay in one. She also has a lot of opinions when it comes to your favorite celebrities’ love lives. It’s all leading up to our new series A Night With My Ex, which explores what happens when former couples reunite…for one night only. Check back each day for exclusive content straight from Siggy herself, and don’t forget to catch the premiere on Tuesday, July 18 at 10/9c.
Social media has ruined this generation. Back before social media, you had to actually meet somebody, and the only way you're going to know if a person is right for you is meeting them face to face. There is no profile on Tinder, not on Bumble, not on JDate, not on Match.com that can deteremine whether you're going to click with that person. Anybody can write whatever they want on paper. You've got to meet them in person. There’s something called chemistry.
If I had come across my now husband Michael's profile, it would say, "I own a car dealership, I have no hair on top of my head." I don’t know if I would’ve picked his profile. The minute I met Michael, my heart was in my stomach. I was like, "Wow, he is a man who knows about the world, he has morals, he has character, I love the way he talks about his dad, I love the way he talks about his divorce, his children." I dropped something on the floor, he went right down and picked it up for me. He was such a gentleman. I loved his dimples. I loved the way he smelled, I love the way he dressed. There are so many things that attract me that maybe wouldn’t attract you. But it just worked from day one. Let me tell you something, by meeting him in person, I have now been living a fairytale for the last 11 years of my life. Had I not gone out to meet him in person, who knows where I wold be today.
The bottom line: Get out there! Here's how to meet someone in person.
