Dolores Catania Explains Why She’s Not Ready to Move in with BF David Principe

It's complicated for The Real Housewives of New Jersey mom, who still lives with her ex.

Dolores Catania has a non-traditional living arrangement where she shares a home with her ex-husband and house-flipping business partner, Frank Catania, and her boyfriend, David Principe. She's been saying that she would get her own home for a long time (and she and Frank have been building one for David), but viewers discovered during The Real Housewives of New Jersey season premiere that it hasn't happened quite yet.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 premiere May 5th at 8/9c on Bravo and stream next day on Peacock.

And it won't happen until David puts a ring on it, she told OK!.

"David's house is done very soon," she said. "David knows that I'm not moving into the house without a commitment, because I don't have to. I love the house. I built it from scratch, picked out everything. It is the house of my dreams in every aspect, even down to replicating a bathroom in Italy where I stay every year... I love that bathroom and I replicated it in his house. My chandeliers in my closet that I built there that I custom made there that I wanted my whole life... it's the dream house! Under the impression that when the house is done, we'll get done — I'd be like, 'Are we getting married?' 'When the house is done.' Now, the house is close to being done and we just got back from a beautiful vacation in Italy and nothing happened so it was like whoa!"

Dolores thought that a proposal might happen while they were enjoying a private boat ride in Capri, but it didn't.

“Things have been a little different and we’ll see what things are. I don’t even know what I want, but I’m not moving out of my house, let me tell you that,” she said.

Dolores also added that building the home brought her ex and her current partner together as friends.

“Having your ex-husband build your current boyfriend’s house was a little bit nerve wracking at first, however Frank and David have grown closer than ever,” she explained.

We told you, it's complicated. Tune in to RHONJ on Wednesdays at 8/7c to see more from this unconventional family!
