Jacqueline Laurita is dispelling some myths about tummy tucks, based on her own personal experience. The Real Housewives of New Jersey mom filmed a series of videos about her diet and exercise routine after getting pushback from Instagram commenters over her ads for weight loss shakes.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 premiere May 5th at 8/7c on Bravo and stream next day on Peacock.

Jacqueline explained it like this: "When I post about certain products, companies that I work for, like a weight loss shake or something like that, some of you get really upset and you accuse me of, 'Oh, you have a tummy tuck and that's why your stomach is flat, blah, blah, blah, it's all Photoshop, blah blah blah.'"

It's definitely not a secret that she got a tummy tuck (she let the world know back in 2013). But Jacqueline wants everyone to know that this cosmetic procedure is not a get-out-of-jail free card when it comes to staying in shape.

"I just want you to know that I did a tummy tuck on national TV. I'm aware that I had a tummy tuck, but that was a lot of years ago. That does not guarantee a permanent weight loss because you had a tummy tuck. You still have to maintain a good lifestyle and a healthy lifestyle," she says in the video, adding later on, "Just because I had a tummy tuck doesn't mean I'm skinny for the rest of my life. I have to work at it, just like everyone else."

Jacqueline kept it real, per usual, explaining that she did put on weight after the procedure.

"I gained a lot of weight back after my tummy tuck, as some of you remember and saw me with a lot heavier weight. The tummy tuck helped me to get rid of all the extra skin I had after having three children that wouldn't bounce back for whatever reason," she says. "That did help me get rid of a lot of the excess skin and some of the fat as well. But it did not stop fat from coming back. It actually went to other areas of my body that I never had before: like my back, my arms, wherever."

To stay at a healthy BMI even with her thyroid issues, Jacqueline says she walks every day, does Barre3, eats healthy 90 percent of the time, and that she does indeed whip up shakes as meals on busy days. Watch Jacqueline's entire video message above.
