Texts, Lies, and Videotape

Kathy responds to the accusations in the tabloids.

By Kathy Wakile

So how’s everyone this week? I want to thank all of you who sent so much love and encouragement to me, my family, and especially to my sister, Rosie. I can’t tell you how much it means to us to know that Rosie’s courageous story touched so many people!

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey on Peacock and the Bravo app.

I am going to briefly address this week’s installment of texts, lies, and videotapes! There’s so much out there that needs to be clear, and I feel I can do that with integrity and without having to hurt anyone in the process. Having said that, I know there will be times I will have to bite my tongue and allow the nonsense to just play out in the tabloids! Jacqueline said it best in her interview (and I couldn’t agree more) when she said, “How they get their money is their business.” But I need to set the record straight in words that are truly my own. I never asked my cousin how many times she goes to the mall. That is simply untrue. I would never judge a family member, friend, or any other person in that way. The only checkbook I want to balance is my own! End of story! I want to focus on more important things.

More fun times down at the Jersey shore. Whenever there’s a big group like that we have tons of laughs and we party like rock stars! Many of you asked me last week about the cocktails we were drinking and if I have any good drink recipes. We were drinking Red Velvet Cosmo of course during my shore house party. I will add some serving suggestions at the end of my blog. Make a note of them so you can try it!

On a similar sweet note, I would also like to acknowledge my husband. I am very proud of him, and I am so glad the viewers all got to see yet another side of Rich. It’s that exceptional part of him that is a good listener and a great friend who is deeply devoted to family. Communication, that’s a key ingredient in any healthy relationship, and that’s one of the biggest reasons I love Rich so much. Rich and my cousin Joey share a special brotherhood that is so wonderful to see. If there was any doubt about how fully committed Joey was to reconciling with Teresa just take a look at his face! It does not get any more real than that. It’s a big step for him and definitely out of his comfort zone. It takes a secure person to admit that he may have contributed to the condition of their relationship. It would have been wonderful to know that Teresa was just as committed and would agree to go to therapy just because her brother asked her, even if she doesn’t think she needs it herself. What other reason would anyone need? Let’s just hope for the best.

Teresa and Therapy?
Speaking of the best, I am going to try to put into words how I feel about Jamie and Rich’s wedding, and that’s a tall order. It was a magnificent celebration of love from beginning to end! Caroline’s speech was so touching and such a perfect part of this commemoration of devotion and caring. There was no shortage of support and affection among those gathered that day. We wish Jamie and Rich continued peace and happiness and send our thanks for inviting us into your home and sharing your beautiful day with us. When you witness such commitment and caring, it’s clear that the world is still a beautiful place.
Thoughts and Emotions

I had a busy week, so let me give you a quick update. Red Velvet Cosmo made its debut in Connecticut at Al’s Warehouse. I want to thank everyone that came from near and far to sample and get a signed bottle of my Red Velvet Cosmo. I’m so happy you all love it. It was our pleasure to meet everyone, thank you, Connecticut, for your warm hospitality.

Speaking of hospitality, the ladies at The View were so welcoming as well. Just as gracious on camera as they were back stage. I’m glad we had a chance to chat and snap some photos in the green room. Team “Victorious Angels” is growing and doing great things to raise brain tumor awareness. We had a fantastic event on Friday night hosted by my friend Robyn Levy of Dining Out New Jersey magazine. Caroline, Albie, and Christopher Manzo were among the many that came out to support our efforts. Many thanks to everyone for their generous donations and support. There’s still time to register for the 2nd annual Brain Tumor Walk NYC on June 16th. To find out how you can register or donate, here’s the link: http://www.braintumorcommunity.org/site/TR/Events/BTW-NY?team_id=50082&pg=team&fr_id=1825

Have a great week!

As always, you can catch up with me on my website and through my newsletter at www.kathywakile.com, on Facebook, and Twitter @KathyWakile @RichardWakile @VictoriaWakile @JosephWakile @RosiePierri.

Red Velvet Cosmo is now available throughout New Jersey, Florida, and Connecticut wherever spirits are sold.

Now with the summer months in full swing, try adding Red Velvet Cosmo to crushed ice in a blender for a frosty treat! Dip the rim of your chilled martini glass in chocolate shavings or chocolate syrup for an added treat.

My website is going through some changes, and as soon as it’s updated there will be plenty of recipes posted there. I have many more exciting things coming soon so stay tuned!

Lots of Love,

xoxo Kathy
