Dolores Catania's Latest Surgery Is One She's Already Had Twice Before
The Real Housewives of New Jersey mom opened up about going under the knife a third time to make sure her breasts were finally "done right."
Dolores Catania is no stranger to plastic surgery. The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member is known for being candid about her procedures, which have ranged from a facelift to a nine-hour surgery that involved "full-body lipo" — among other things. The mom of two has also advised other Housewives like Wendy Osefo on how to find the right surgeon when it comes to getting work done.
In a November 10 story with RealSelf, Dolores opened up about getting her breasts augmented for a third time in October of this year and why she ultimately decided to go under the knife again. "I didn’t like the way they felt. I thought they looked a little uneven, and I just didn’t really like the implants that I used. I have a thyroid issue, so I went up and down in weight a lot, and I didn’t like the way [my breast implants] hung as my weight fluctuated. Of course, nobody’s body is symmetrical, but it was such a noticeable difference, and I just wanted them done right."
After seeing "how good" cast mate Teresa Guidice’s breasts looked, Dolores "just wanted [hers] done right." Dolores explained that she did not want her breasts to be any bigger than they were before the surgery, but that she was hoping for them to have be a "better shape" and "perkier." Dolores used the same surgeon (Dr. Aviva Preminger) and even the same kind of Sientra breast implants her RHONJ costar has, and felt confident about getting the surgery.
Dolores has recovered from the augmentation and is more than happy with the results. "There aren’t too many better feelings than when you come out of surgery and realize that you chose the best doctor, everything went great, you love the way you look, and that everything you went through paid off," she said. "That’s exactly how I felt, and it’s how I still feel."
The Housewife is an advocate when it comes to getting plastic surgery, and she believes that if there's something about your body or appearance that bothers you and there's a way to change it, you should do it. "You shouldn’t feel ashamed to have plastic surgery or worry about what other people will think of you. Don’t let anyone else dictate what you do with your own body."
