Gia Giudice Explains Why She’s Getting Her Wrist Tattoo Removed
Teresa Giudice’s daughter revealed why her star tattoo is now “meaningless.”
Gia Giudice is changing things up. In February, The Real Housewives of New Jersey daughter shared that she was in the process of removing a small star tattoo from her left wrist. In March, the college senior hopped onto her Instagram Stories to explain why she’s saying goodbye to the body art.
In a candid Story video filmed from her couch, Gia addressed her followers. “I know you’re probably all seeing my Story about me getting my little tattoo removed,” she said, holding up her wrist to show the black star. “I got this tattoo my senior year of high school going into college, with two of my best friends at the time — and I’m no longer friends with one of them. I just don’t want any meaningless tattoos on my body.”
But her meaningful body art remains. The aspiring lawyer went on to share that she has a siempre insieme tattoo that she shares with her mom, Teresa Giudice, and her sisters. (The Italian phrase translates to “always together” in English.) She also has a special bird tattoo that signifies her connection with her father, Joe Giudice.
But the little black star is on the way out — and its removal will only hurt a bit. “Because [the tattoo is] so small, it does hurt a little bit. But [the pain] literally goes away in two seconds,” Gia said. “I’m sure if someone had a bigger tattoo it would be more painful. I’m gonna do a whole video on the progression of my progress.” For now, here’s a peek at the current state of Gia’s star:
In Gia’s initial announcement, she re-shared a post from New Jersey’s Ethos Spa detailing the removal of her wrist ink. In the video, a technician uses the “PicoSure laser system” (per the business’ website) to send “ultra-fast light pulses into the tattoo pigments” to break them down into tiny particles that are “flushed out through the body’s natural processes.”
The spa’s website notes that clients should prepare for “multiple” laser sessions to completely remove tattoos. In the meantime, Gia isn’t the first member of the Bravo family who’s had a tattoo removed.
In 2021, Southern Charm’s Madison LeCroy shared a mirror picture from the office of her go-to Charleston-based plastic surgeon, Dr. Patrick J. O’Neill. Madison captioned the snap to let her followers know she was undergoing her “fourth round of tattoo removal.”
Meanwhile, The Real Housewives of Orange County alum Meghan King opened up about her decision to get rid of some unwanted ink in July 2020. She shared footage from her second treatment session to remove the “JE” initials she had tattooed for her ex-husband, Jim Edmonds.
